Nouveau 30++ Pretreatment Process. Among the pretreatment process, hydrothermal treatment is an environmentally friendly pretreatment process, compared with chemical pretreatment, because it uses only water for reaction medium, without additional chemicals. An inorganic membrane element and a pretreatment process are provided. The chemical process is more usual, with different versions for food packaging applications (to satisfy regulations) and for architectural or transport applications. The process is carried out at high temperatures, and therefore, it requires high energy input, which is costly.
